I apologize for the issues thejohnsonblog may be experiencing with connectivity - Comcast is apparently still learning how to run a network.

I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever been less impressed with a company than I am with Comcast. Have you done any research on DSL speeds in our neighborhood?

I haven’t done any research, but a friend in the neighborhood has DSL and I think is getting 6Mb down. I’ll have to double-check that.
If I went with DSL I’d have to first get a phone line installed at the house, which last I checked would be a couple hundred bucks to get the “box” put on the house.

One more thing, I chatted with a comcast rep online today about the problems and was told we could get a refund for the downtime by calling 1-888-comcast and referencing CR122426917 (that’s the case for the outage).
I normally never do that since it’ll be such a small amount I’m sure, but it would be nice if they had a little headache to deal with refunds for a while. Pass it on.
